Jolene Hassard
About
Hello! My name is Jolene Hassard and I am a visual artist, registered veterinary technologist and an avid outdoorswoman. I was blessed to grow up in the forests and on the beaches of Lantzville, a small seaside village on Vancouver Island, located in the Salish Sea on the west coast of Canada. As an adult, I have spent a great deal of time backpacking on our beautiful Island, particularly the incredible West Coast. Both my time in the outdoors and work as a vet tech have helped foster my deep love of animals, forests and the ocean, all of which are reflected in my work. I love to work in the style of dotillism, creating intricately detailed backgrounds comprised of hundreds of dots with my subjects contrasting in silhouette. I currently live in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island with my husband Mick and our animal family.
Thank you for your interest in my work!
